We’re delighted to welcome Griffith University as our 2025 co-hosts! The event will take place at Griffith University’s vibrant Brisbane City (South Bank), Australia.

Day One – 28th May

In this engaging session our Head of Product, Scott Gibbens will present an in-depth look at the Talis Aspire product roadmap updating on recent discovery initiatives and providing insights into upcoming developments.There will be a chance for questions and answers at the end of the session.

10:05-10:35 – Journeying into user empathy: University of Melbourne Library’s quest to understand and transform the online library experience Part II

The University of Melbourne undertook a 2 year research project looking at how Library users interact with digital library resources. Hear from Hannah Armitage, Discovery UX Specialist on the Framework used to capture the subtleties on how individuals discover, access and engage with Library information ,and hear how the information and insight has been put to use 4 years on from the start of the project.

10:35-11:05 – From Student clicks to academic engagement: how La Trobe University created a tailor made dashboard

Hear how La Trobe University are enhancing efficiency by using Advanced MIS to mix resource list data with additional data sources, generating dynamic reports and dashboards through Power BI to gain deeper insights into student activity.

11:05-11:35 – Transition 100% of Required and Recommended reading online before 2026

Griffith University Scholarly Resource team is collaborating with the Academic Engagement team to transition 100% of Required and Recommended readings online before 2026. By working closely with academics, the library is facilitating a seamless shift to digital resources, ensuring accessibility, sustainability, and enhanced student learning experiences.

12:00-12:10 – TfS Welcome and Scene Setting

12:10-13:00 – The importance of skills analysis in the aligning of strategic goals; experiences from Flinders University

This engaging session from Prashant Pandey will highlight the need for a transformative approach to skills management, given the speed of technologucal and organisational change facing institutions. Learn from Prashant’s approach to the Library skills landscape at Flinders.

13:00-14:00 – Lunch

14:00-15:00 – Tony Zanders from Skilltype will be hosting sessions. Skills development workshop with Skilltype: how effective skills analysis within the library can improve service delivery, enhance development and improve morale

These sessions will be practical and interactive to explore the process of Skills Analysis and how it can be applied to the management, use and promotion of resource lists – from practical skills such as using data and data analysis tools, process planning, liaising with IT departments, engaging academics and promoting to students.

15:00-15:30 – Technology from Sage overview and Librarian Futures Session (Part 4 as focus)

TfS is now working on Librarians Futures Part 4, Nicola will be sharing early insights into the findings
