Past consulting projects

We integrated an overseas partner institution’s library catalog with Talis Aspire Reading Lists. To achieve this, we developed a parser to extract metadata from the partner’s catalog. This integration empowered the reading list team to apply their expertise in reading list creation and resource access, ensuring that both print and electronic materials were available to students enrolled in a university course at the partner institution.

University of West London, UK

The university, based in Northern England, had a large project underway to move all their stock and holdings to a new library platform. We worked with the project team to share best practice from our experience working with other libraries. Our project management and technical skills meant that a large update of many thousands of resources was completed on time. The University was able to ensure that resources on reading lists were always available to students during the library system data migration.

Library Systems Migration

James Cook University were new to data analysis and wanted to get the most from their access to the rich data about reading list usage found in Advanced MIS. Our team was able to work closely with the university to build and trouble shoot reports built in third party software that used Talis Aspire Advanced MIS data. Through this process the library team gained the skills and confidence to answer the questions being asked of them by university management.

We spent two days on-site with the team to align the features of Talis Aspire Reading Lists with their emergent acquisition processes.
